The PBS H pattern 4 speed transaxle is designed to be a cost-effective, strong, and reliable unit using proven components and technology. The transmission was developed to offer an alternate to the Sequential shifter. With the "H" pattern any gear may be selected with out having to shift one gear at a time.

One inch wide gears on 85mm shaft centers with replaceable dog face plates are used. The gears can be either straight cut supplied by PBS, or helical gears supplied by Weddle Industries. The Ring and Pinion gears are also supplied by Weddle Industries.

The PBS LS1 bell housing is shown installed.  The transmission is a four speed "H" pattern shifter. It is designed to handle 500-600 Hp. We have now incorporated our very successful cable shifter into the design. As a result the setup as a front engine or rear is just routing the cables where they need to be.

It features robust reverse gears with a positive lockout system to prevent accidental reverse engaging. The case is designed to fit all the popular bell housings including the Subaru, PBS LS1 and the VW standard 9" unit.
