The cross flow head for the MGB has four intake and three exhaust ports.
 
 
A-Series Head
The MINI head is a redesigned unit that has very large ports and better location for the spark plug. The 14mm plug has been replaced with a 12mm plug. The water passages are located slightly different to afford much better cooling. The head is machined with 9 head bolt holes. However the two extra holes are drilled about 80% through the head from the top side for applications requiring 11 holes.
